Original Character designed and 3D modeled in Maya and Substance Painter

I used my cat Ahri as a reference and made a cartoon character out of him. The background story associated with the anime character is based off of his previous experience when coming to America. He was not treated well when he was with the pet carrier and got a fever which left tear stains that never goes away (Riri also have a scar near where Ahri has his tear stain). I extended this background to an extreme and made it kind of dark. The character I created is name Riri, he is loyal and sensitive. He lived in a time period when humans hated cats. He did not live long because of the abuses from humans. He was thrown into the water brutally and died... Fortunately, he got a chance to reborn into a half-cat half-human form and gained great power. He has the potential ability to use water as his source power. Most importantly, he believes that he is destined to serve his loyalty to his owner, Mitty Guo.
